Caroline Gosling, M.Ed.

Instructor and Implementation Coach

Caroline Gosling is an instructor and implementation coach with IIRP Canada, whose commitment to restorative practices spans more than two decades. Caroline first discovered restorative approaches in 1997 when she attended Community Conferencing facilitator training as a newly appointed principal. That experience sparked a lasting passion for restorative work, ultimately leading her to join the IIRP Canada team as an instructor following her retirement in 2017.

With a background in K–12 education, Caroline served Edmonton Public Schools for 34 years as a teacher, behavior consultant, and school principal. She also contributed her expertise to Alberta’s Ministry of Education and Ministry of Children’s Services while on secondment. Her work has focused on strengthening school communities and organisations through the creation of welcoming, caring, respectful, and safe environments—grounded in the belief that positive change begins with connection.

Beyond education, Caroline is an advocate for moving the justice system toward restorative models of addressing harm. She’s continually inspired by stories of transformation from school leaders, organisations, and participants implementing restorative practices.

Caroline holds a Bachelor of Education degree in Special Education from the University of Alberta, a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from the University of Portland, and a Restorative Justice Certificate from Simon Fraser University. Her dedication to justice and community continues to fuel her work in empowering individuals and reshaping systems for the better.
