Pam Buttery, B.Ed.

Instructor and Implementation Coach

Pam Buttery is an IIRP Canada instructor and implementation coach with a rich background in educational leadership, special education, and advocacy. She was first introduced to restorative practices while serving as a Special Education Consultant, where she quickly became involved in formal conferencing and witnessed firsthand the power of healing, reintegration, and the repair of harm.

Later, as a school principal, Pam embraced a whole-school restorative approach, leading transformative change that fostered strong relationships and a healthier school community. Her leadership and commitment to inclusive education have been deeply rooted in advocacy for neurodivergent and marginalized populations. Following her retirement from the principalship, Pam was invited to join IIRP Canada as an instructor, sharing her passion and expertise with adult learners across the country.

Pam’s dedication to community development and restorative living continues to inspire her work today. She believes in the personal and communal benefits of consciously practicing through a restorative lens—both professionally and personally—as a way to maintain mental well-being and support those around her.

Pam earned her B.A. in History and Canadian Studies from Trent University and her B.Ed. from Queen’s University. She holds additional specialist qualifications in Reading and Special Education, Principal Part 1 and 2 from York University, and most recently earned a Graduate Certificate in Restorative Practices from the International Institute for Restorative Practices Graduate School in 2023.
